This morning I set out with Sawyer to meet to with our friends and workout on the sand. We push the kiddos and get our booties kicked and today was like normal until stumbled across a hurt bird.
We spent a lot of time trying to cut the string with our keys, and ended up slicing our fingers instead. Then we ran into two sisters, from Modesto!, who got some scissors and saved the day. We put a bag on the bird's head to keep him calm, a trick I learned at a work BBQ, and then freed the bird. Unfortunately, the bird was hurt and couldn't fly away. We hunted down the rescue number and hopefully by now the bird is safe!
Trooper kiddos waiting while their moms free the birdie!
We saw tons of these little jelly fish today too on the sand. Very random. I saw them later while I paddle boarded floating on top of the sea.
Our victory faces!
The next adventure of the day was paddle boarding. We wanted to try and paddle with the whales. So my mother in law loaded them up and we headed out. Unfortunately, I crashed during my first attempt to stand and the day turned into knee paddle boarding for me. However, we did see a whale while out in the water!!! It swimming farther out to see but was a humpback and we saw it's dorsal fin and watched it swim away. I think I'd be pretty scared if I was close to it. From the shore they don't look so large, but watching it cut up through the water and being in the water - it looked soooooooooooo HUGE!!!! I attempted to stand a few more times but kept leaning to the left, someday I will get it!
It was fun and the water was so warm
today, but full of seaweed. Which is a bit creepy when you fall in and it's clingy you and touching you!
A very fun day, and within a minute of being clean and home Sawyer crashed in his bed.
I hope I can keep going out in the ocean father and even stand up. It is a pretty freaky thing to me and I am trying to conquer my fear. I wanted to pee my pants each time I go out, but it gets a little easier each time as well.
Thankful for a beautiful and peaceful place to live!
